Nice stop, but something ain’t right.

Antigua, one of the stops i was quite looking forward to, my camera on the other hand was not. Maybe it was the light, maybe it was me.. whatever it was i didnt walk away with many photos that ill look back on and wow at.

The city is clean, the streets are wide and laid out in a grid insuring that you never get lost, and it has that scent of gringo in the air. After being in so many wonderful towns already i found Antigua to be a bit stale, everything was very plain and very same.. Yes the town is beautiful, but look around and it lacks character and the color that other Central American cities do.

3 nights was enough to see the town and climb Volcan Pacaya, an active Volcano an hour out of the city. Yes Antigua is beautiful, its safe and the police are in high numbers to ensure this.. but for me it was easy forgettable.
